Jaclyn grew up in Los Angeles and migrated to Northern California to study at the University of California, Davis. While at Davis, Jaclyn majored in Communication and double minored in Economics and Education. She also spent time studying abroad in England and graduated from UC Davis with honors.

After college, Jaclyn attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. During law school, she served as a writer and editor for the McGeorge Law Review and spent time studying abroad in Salzburg, Austria under Associate Justice Anthony M. Kennedy of the U.S. Supreme Court. Jaclyn earned several Witkin Awards, graduated with distinction from McGeorge and was admitted to the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society for her achievements.

Throughout her career, Jaclyn has counseled hundreds of local businesses and individuals. She commonly represents small and medium-size businesses as outside counsel and assists with their day-to-day business needs. A majority of her time is spent advising, drafting agreements, and litigating in the areas of business, real estate, construction, land development, and employment. Since opening SMP’s doors, Jaclyn has prepared, negotiated, and closed commercial transactions totaling tens of millions each year. Jaclyn tirelessly advocates for her clients, and endeavors to provide cost effective service in every aspect of her practice.

Super Lawyers Magazine named Jaclyn a “Rising Star” in 2014, 2015 and 2016. She was also named one of the top 40 professionals under 40 in Sacramento and “Best of the Bar” by the Sacramento Business Journal. Jaclyn works closely with her community – she sits on the Board of Directors of the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of West Sacramento, the West Sacramento Educational Foundation, the West Sacramento Housing Development Corporation and the McGeorge Alumni Association. She is also a volunteer for a number of animal rescue groups and served a full term with the Anthony M. Kennedy American Inn of Court, an ethics group comprised of judges, attorneys and law students, dedicated to improving the professionalism, civility and ethics of the legal profession.

Jaclyn has travelled to over thirty-five countries and always looks forward to racking up more frequent flyer miles. Those days are over for now though – Jaclyn and her husband temporarily turned in their suitcases to spend time with their young daughter and two rescued Golden Retrievers.
